SUNDAY MORNINGS | 10:30AM–12PM
at our DOWNTOWN AUSTIN Location
$12/class, $6/senior or student, free for KMC ATX members
Drop-in classes / 9-week series
Join us each week as we explore topics based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book How to Understand the Mind. A practical manual for meditation in daily life, this book shows how we can develop authentic inner peace, overcome daily problems, and bring about positive change in our life.
Anxiety and stress are an increasingly common problem for people in our busy, modern world. These states of mind prevent us from experiencing peace and enjoying life.
Meditation is an effective way to combat negative states of mind and create a sense of mental freedom. By gaining experience of Buddhist meditation techniques and positive thinking we can learn to control our mind, rather than allowing our mind to control us. By learning to accept painful feelings rather than being panicked by them, we can keep a calm and happy mind in all situations.
You do not need to be a Buddhist to attend or benefit from the techniques taught. Each class consists of guided meditations and clear explanations, as well as an opportunity to ask questions. Although it is beneficial to attend the entire series, you may drop in at any time. Classes are held weekly. Suitable for all levels of experience.
