Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism.
Born in Tibet in 1931 and ordained as a monk at the age of 8, he has lived in England since 1977, making the Dharma accessible to Westerners.
The founder of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union, he has written a series of highly acclaimed translations and interpretations of Buddhist texts. Under his guidance his students have established over one thousand and fifty Dharma centers and groups worldwide.
Geshe-la, as he is affectionately called by his students, has dedicated his life to making the wisdom of Buddha easily applicable to busy modern life. Kelsang Ingchug is a close disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. She is his representative in Central Texas and Resident Teacher at Chittamani Buddhist Center in Austin.
