Study Programs
The Kadampa Buddhist Tradition is unique in that it offers three distinctive study programs: The General Program, Foundation Program and Teacher Training Program, all outlined below.
General Program
The General Program provides a basic introduction to Buddhist view, meditation, and practice that is suitable for beginners. It also includes advanced teachings and practices from both Sutra and Tantra, and consists of weekly classes, monthly workshops, retreats, daily meditation and prayers and classes in your area.

The Foundation Program
The Foundation Program (FP) is for those who wish to deepen their understanding and experience of Buddhism through the systematic study and practice of six texts. This unique program was designed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and helps us solve our daily problems and develop happy and peaceful states of mind. On FP, students receive teachings, meditate and discuss the text thoroughly.
FP is held on Sundays from 2pm-6pm. Currently we are studying Heart of Wisdom by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, which can be found in our bookstore. Please contact the center for more information.
Teacher Training Program
The Teacher Training Program (TTP) is an in-depth systematic study of 12 subjects from Sutra and Tantra that is the supreme qualification with the New Kadampa Tradition. TTP is designed for people who wish to train as authentic Dharma teachers. In addition to completing the study of twelve texts of Sutra and Tantra, the student is required to observe certain commitments with regard to behavior and way of life, and to complete a number of meditation retreats.
TTP is held every Thursdays from 7pm-9:30pm. We are currently studying the book, Meaningful to Behold, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Please contact the center for more information.
