Pujas (Chanted Prayers)

Special events frequently preempt the usual weekly schedule. Please call the Center at (512) 916-4444 to confirm, or consult the detailed monthly calendars above.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Heart Jewel Puja with Lamrim Meditation - 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

(Wednesdays at 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm - Only during UT Informal Classes)

This practice is the heart essence of Kadampa Buddhism. In the first part we visualize our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa and make prayers and requests to purify negativity, accumulate merit and receive blessings. We then make prayers to our Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugdän. Through this we can overcome obstacles to our practice and create favorable conditions so that we can nurture and increase our pure Dharma realizations.

Fridays

Wishfulfilling Jewel with Tsog (Offerings) - 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Unwind after a week of work-come and enjoy chanted prayers, meditation, food, drink and good company! Bring an offering of food, drink or flowers, if you wish.

10th and 25th of every month (Please check Monthly Calendar)

The main practice is relying upon the Spiritual Guide, but it also includes all the essential practices of the stages of the path (Lamrim) and training the mind (Lojong), as well as both the generation stage and completion stage of Highest Yoga Tantra.
