As the holiday season approaches, while materials gifts may make others happy at times, the greatest gift we can give – to ourselves
and others – is the gift of being happy, peaceful and kind.
One of the beauties of Buddha’s teachings is that they show us –Buddhists and non-Buddhists – the cause of happiness and how to cultivate it. The cause of happiness, Buddha teaches, is a peaceful mind and the way to cultivate it is through meditation. A hidden benefit of this understanding is that we, ourselves, can directly create happiness in our minds; we are not dependent on anyone or anything external for our happiness – how wonderful!
In this Friday Night Lecture, special guest teacher Gen Kelsang Rigpa will explain, in a lighthearted and practical way, how we can transform our experience of the holidays through understanding, and applying, Buddha’s teachings on happiness.
No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome!
